Its been ages, i know i know.

So now the house is there I am getting lazy- sorry about that. I am also sorry about the fact that I can't work out how to rotate them! grrrr I think i'm tired!

As you can see the driveway is finished and we are really enjoying beig able to pull off of the road. ( Man I sound ike an old man don't I!!) It was only through the hard graft of my best man Matt and myself that it got done!- there was one point where Matt was in the digger and I was on the barrow- ouch lol!

The floor is also down in the kitchen/back lobby/ bathroom and we love that also- Laura oiled it the other night and when she came down stairs to go out she realised that it was still wet so she had to just go back to bed for a few hours! ( i was away that weekend- I thought it was lucky she didn't ned the loo! hahah)

Anyway I hope the photo's come out - Sorry its been so long- not long till I start my new job as apprentice chippy/builder so will have some moe photos on a new project soon as mum and dad have just bought a barn to convert - it is awesome!!!

Some Pictures

Well, things have slowed down considerably now we have moved in!! - Complacency is a horrible thing and now with Christmas looming we have to pull our fingers out and get a couple of things done! We have the flooring people booked for the 19th to lay ready for it, oak boards in the kitchen, back lobby and bathroom. We thought that as we only needed 9 square meters we could splash out a little! The fire is in place and within the next week we will be able to light it! our curtains and blinds are up and we have the guest bed so now people can come and stay!!

Here are a few photo's of the house and the view from the garden as the sun was setting! - one word.... Awesome!

The Return of the Mac

It has been ages since I have posted, sorry for that. Let me give you an update on what has been happening at 2 the Terrace. (is it bad that I giggle inside whenever I say my address? - No 2! hehe) We have bought the log burner, it wasn't cheap but it makes the room look awesome and will hopefully allow us to not need the heating on!, its a result that we are friends with a local tree surgeon so we can have all the logs we need also the previous owner left us with a ton of coal in the back garden in this enourmous coal chest! RESULT!!!!

The curtains and blinds are ordered and e are awaiting delivery of them next tue, we had a result on the blinds- 50% off at hillarys.co.uk and as for the curtains... lets just say they were not on sale!!! they should help keep the room nice and cosy as the sash windowws have a habbit of allowing the draft in/heat out!

We have cut a new doorway under the stairs for our fridge freezer to slot into, it was starting to get really annoying having to buy milk daily. all that is left to do there is put the door surround into the hole and hang the new door to conceal the fridge. We are going to partition off inside the cupboard also so the origional door will be for storage and the new door will be completely isolated and just for the fridge freezer- this is so we can have shelves on three sides of the cupboard and maximise storage- does that make sense???!

We have been hard at work in the garden aswell- its a monster- I am really looking forward to bbq season as we will be able to hold some seriously cool parties! haha. If you don't keep on top of it, it turns into the wilderness it was when we first bought the place- I feel a ride on mower is needed! nothing too big 16valves and a turboshould do it- we are in essex! ha

I'l post some photo's soon- I hate all this writing- pics are much more interesting to look at!

Nearly a house again....... I Hate Painting

Check it out!! We have proper plastered and painted walls (and ceilings!!) my back is killing me!

It took us seven attempts to get the colour for the chimney wall- we ended up using Farrow and Balls French Gray, which is as you can see a very green grey- classy!

The rest of the walls we have painted white, nice and clean, it might change one day but for now its a blank canvas.

The thing next to the chimney is a de-humidifier, the plasterer said it would be up to two weeks before we could paint but after having that on for a week it was ready. Not sure how it does it but it sucks all of the moisture out of the room- I emptied twenty liters of water out of it!- twenty liters, that is a lot of water. We worked in there for the night with it on and when we got back to our lodgings (my parents house) our hands looked like we had been sitting in a bath for a couple of hours!

The carpets are ordered and should be ready this week so its on with the skirting board tonight and get the thresholds in!

The doors have all been removed as well and they are being taken to the "strip shop" to be dipped in a big vat of acid, I think the Victorian doors will look wicked stripped back to the wood as they have about twelve coats of gloss on them!

The floor is down, not long now!!

As you can see the floor is down and believe it or not we have ordered carpet!!!!- we are soooo close. the plasterer has been in and finished the walls and they look great!- i'll post some photo's soon.

Under the floor there is a layer of Damp course, then two inch polystyrene then polythene, it is well insulated!!!

The Upstairs...

I have had a couple of complaints about the fact that I havent shown the upstairs yet!

The reason for this is that there isn't that much going on really- just a lick of paint and some new carpet!!!

Wegot off lightly up here really! :)

Gas done!

So here are the shots of the trench being dug and the gas dudes fitting our supply!

I was upstairs painting the bedroom and all of a sudden this massive truck pulls up, collects the dirt and the boys had layed the tarmac!- I got a thumbs up "all done mate" and they were gone!

It only took them a couple of hours! I kept smelling gas and then remembering they were out there!

Powergen are coming today to fit the meter so I'm off to do some more painting whilst I wait for them - any time between 12 and 8 apparently! - great I'll take my time!

The boiler looks good, really neat, just nead to work out how to use it!!
